Solar Partnership PrograM
WHAT IS IT?
The City of Port Phillip is committed to addressing the low rates of rooftop solar installations across our municipality. The Solar Partnership Program has been developed to provide our residents, businesses and community organisations with a solar option that is credible and cost effective.
We are particularly keen to support apartment dwellers and businesses to overcome the barriers of installing solar.
WHY HAVE IT?
The City of Port Phillip has a very low rate of rooftop solar installations compared to the rest of Australia. This Program reduces the up-front cost of installation and provides trusted advice and support to participants.
This initiative is being delivered through the Sustainable City Community Action Plan which outlines Council’s sustainability programs for the community.
HOW TO TAKE PART

What happens next?
Step 1 - Once you’ve completed the online form, your details will be provided to our Solar Partners for their assessment.
Step 2 - You will then be contacted by a Solar Partner with an initial assessment of the suitability of your roof for solar and a preliminary cost estimate.
Step 3 - If you are willing to take the next steps, the Solar Partner will make a time to visit the property to confirm site details and provide a detailed quote. Council Officers will be able to assist you to interpret this quote.
Step 4 - Once this quote has been approved, installation can be scheduled.
Step 5 - Following installation, the Solar Partner will organise paperwork for you to sign to arrange for your system to be connected to the grid. The timing of connection can vary dependent on your network provider.
If you require any assistance during this process, please don’t hesitate to contact the Sustainability Programs team at firstname.lastname@example.org or 03 9209 6690.
